NORRY NIVEN - DGA
Known as an actor’s director, Norry started out in college directing MTV music videos and has been represented and worked globally as a commercial director since he was 23 years old. His memorable commercial work and Super Bowl spots caught massive attention for global brands such as Gatorade, Ford, Lincoln, McDonald’s, HBO, Showtime, KIA, FOX, Pepsi, Disney, Visa and American Express. He’s directed with an array of A list talent such as Jennifer Lopez, Don Cheadle, Claire Danes, Rosamund Pike, William H. Macy, Edie Falco, Michael Sheen, Queen Latifah, Mariah Carey, Kiefer Sutherland, Andrew Scott, Dakota Fanning, Damian Lewis, Mandy Patinkin, and Michael C. Hall. Norry has won numerous Emmy and Promax directing gold awards for his work on RAY DONOVAN, HOMELAND, THE TUDORS, all 8 seasons of DEXTER, WEEDS, BEL-AIR, SHAMELESS, 24, WHEEL OF TIME, RIPLEY and NURSE JACKIE. Norry’s current released doc feature film, “GET BACK UP” earned 9.5 out of 10 stars on Film Threat in which the film won the prestigious Special Jury Remi Award. His previous feature film, FROM ABOVE aka Chasing Shakespeare which starred Danny Glover and Graham Greene won more than a dozen “Best Film” awards including “Best Director” at festivals from Hawaii to Cannes along with an Audience Award at SXSW. The film was also honored at the Dallas Museum of Art.
His latest film TO SAVE A SON is in post and due out next year. He just finished co-writing the pilot for a limited series that he is set to direct titled WILDCATS, to be filmed in 2026.. Additionally, he is set to also direct SIX PAINTED LADIES, the true story of the 1911 heist of the Mona Lisa which he wrote. He has also signed to direct the sci-fi fantasy adventure, KAIA, with Valerie McCaffrey casting and co-producing.
His work is on display in a permanent installation of the “Art of Film” in Museum of Modern Art in New York.
